Description: Utilizing videos and quizzes, Dive Computer Training allows users to learn how to view their dive computer in action, and program many of the dive computers on the market in an interactive way.

Pros: Informative, well laid-out training videos are both challenging and allow you to learn at your own pace. There are also many computer-training options. Many dive computer manufacturers have modified versions of this application dedicated to their dive computers.

Cons: The app crashed many times, the back button didn’t work in certain screens, error messages weren’t descriptive, and I was unable to finish the training on the iPhone. The user interface needs a graphic artist’s touch as well.

Bottom Line: I find the information in the training videos to be phenomenal, and I definitely recommend taking one of their classes on a dive computer you own or plan on buying, but I do not recommend conducting the training on the iPhone. As an iPhone app there are far too many bugs. I recommend using the app creators webpage interface instead. The web experience was much more fluent and easier to use, and I didn’t run into a single problem. After talking with the developers, they are committed to solving the problems with the bugs on the iPhone app, and as of this writing a version 1.1 was in review with Apple
