The Hercules ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) was exploring the coast of Louisiana when it came across a curious sperm whale nearly 600 meters beneath the surface. Occurrences like this are rare at this depth, especially with underwater robots. The researchers were surprised to see the whale stick around and circle the ROV a few times, giving us a unique look at this magnificent creature. Check out this amazing footage caught on film by the crew of the E/V _Nautilus_ and learn more about this historic expedition.
