Scuba Diving Postage Stamps from Around the World

If you enjoy collecting stamps or just simply miss the day when they were cheaper, join us as we honor 17 scuba diving postage stamps from around the world.

Ranging from a 1959 Russian scuba diver stamp to a 2005 "The Little Mermaid" stamp in the USA, these nostalgic stamps of scuba diving, reefs and fish will let you dive into the past — not literally, but it's pretty close.

And if you can't get enough of the stamps above, check out this list of postage stamp facts:

  • Before 1883, advertising was present on the back of 3-cent stamps in the United States.
  • Bhutan, located in Asia, issed stamps in 1973 that were phonograph records and could be played on a record player.
  • Astronauts on the 1969 Apollo 11 moon flight created the moon's first stamp.
  • As the first country to issue stamps, Great Britain is the only country without its name on them.
  • When stamps were first issued, mailers sometimes sewed them to letters.
