I'm Roger Roy, the ScubaLab Director. We tested the Shearwater Perdix dive computer. Capable of advanced technical diving, the Perdix is also a great recreational computer with an intuitive operation and an excellent display. The Perdix was our Testers Choice for wrist computers.

We tested the Perdix at the University of Southern California's hyperbaric chamber on Catalina Island. We also took it into the field for test dives at Blue Grotto Dive Resort in central Florida.

We put it through a series of carefully controlled, simulated dives alongside other computers to see how its decompression algorithm performed. We evaluated how easy it was to set up and use, how well we could read the screen in different conditions, and how it presented important information during our dives.

While it has many advanced tec diving features, the Perdix is also a surprisingly easy-to-use recreational computer. The two-button interface, along with clear screen prompts, make setup incredibly easy for a computer with so many capabilities. The display is one of the easiest to see that we've ever used, with crisp, bright characters that jump out from the black background. The Perdix lets you customize its display, select colors and show the data you want.
