Maui Diving....WONDERFUL

After researching online the numerous dive operators in Maui planning for our upcoming dive trip, we dove with Scuba Shack in Kihei and hit the jackpot. Their $125 two tank dive included ALL gear which made the total cost about $15-30 cheaper than most of the other companies. But here's the main reason why we loved the company. Their equipment is new (replaced monthly) and top notch, a far cry from other rental equipment that we have use in the Caribean & Mexico, and even one on Maui. Their service is impecable...1st class pampering all the way. We felt safe among the divemasters (6:1 ratio, 12 divers per boat). They were so patient and encouraging. I was nervous since I hadn't dove much in the past and none in the past 2 yrs.. They helped boost my confidence in diving skills. Their boat is beautiful and comfortable. The hot fresh water shower and shampoo on the boat after the second dive was a wonderful bonus. We saw beautiful coral in Molokini, Turtle town, and St. Anthony's ship wreck, lots of gorgeous fish, many giant turtles, and even a big eel.

The last two days of our trip, we rented equipment and did shore dives on our own to save money. The company that we rented from (not Scuba Shack) had leaky regulators (3 out of 4 regulators)and generally worn out equipment. We wasted so much of our precious vacation time trying to set up the obtain and set up the gear, and in the end couldn't find the right spots at the dive site for good diving views. Never again will we try to save money by going it on our own. The dive operators know the best places to go to and boat dives are such a less hassle. The gear is just to heavy to walk on land with. I'm sold on "boat dives" and will just save my money until I can just do all boat dives with a divemaster. I highly recommend Scuba Shack. They showed us a 1st class diving time!
