Cozumel, Mexico (Feb. 27, 2007) - U.S. travelers can now plan vacations to the Mexican Caribbean destination of Cozumel with even greater ease with the introduction of American Eagle's new direct Miami-to-Cozumel route. The new Cozumel flights are scheduled to begin March 2, 2007 and will operate daily throughout the year between the popular island destination and Miami. Each flight will accommodate up to 64 passengers via American Eagle's ATR72 turbo-prop aircraft.

"Miami is a major gateway for travelers heading to Mexico and the Caribbean. The new flight will make it easier for travelers throughout the United States to join us here in Cozumel to experience the unique culture, warm hospitality and world famous reefs the island is known for," said Raul Marrufo, director of the Cozumel Tourism Promotion Board.

With the added airlift, Cozumel will have the opportunity to host more visitors looking to escape to the unique, warm weather, fun-filled island destination. Families and couples alike will enjoy the quiet beaches, abundant activities and range of hotels and dining options available on the island. Home to the largest reef network in the Western Hemisphere, Cozumel is also a mecca for divers and snorkelers. Now more divers can explore the amazing waters of Cozumel with its abundant marine life, fascinating underwater caverns and multicolored reef systems.

"American Eagle is thrilled to offer this new route, connecting our Miami hub to one of Mexico's premier tourist destinations," said Ed Criner, president of Executive Airlines, which flies as American Eagle in the Caribbean, Florida and the Bahamas. "This new service will launch in time for vacationers to enjoy Cozumel's wonderful beaches and outdoor activities this spring."
