How to Care For Your Dive Light
A dive light can be used for more than just night dives, it can also come in handy when trying to spot critters hiding under rocks and ledges. It's a great gear accessory to consider investing in. To make sure you know how to properly care for your dive light, our Gear Editor has put together these simple maintenance tips.
DIVE LIGHT CARE — BEFORE YOU DIVE
• Open the light to inspect all O-rings for damage
• Clean and lubricate O-rings
• Install a fully charged battery and check operation
• Inspect for damage or corrosion on the light, switch and body
• Check the lanyard or mount for damage or corrosion
DIVE LIGHT CARE — AFTER YOU DIVE
• Rinse thoroughly to remove all salt or salt
• Operate switch while submerged
• Dry thoroughly before opening
• Inspect O-rings for dirt or damage
• Remove batteries before storing
