| Neal Watson, well-known dive industry figure and Bahamas travel specialist was the first professional in the industry to try Oceanic's new DataMask HUD.|
I just returned from a week long live aboard dive trip in the Bahamas and had the pleasure of spending a week diving and falling in love with the new Oceanic DataMask with the Digital Optic System.
Over the past 50 plus years I've seen the evolution of the diving industry go from the double hose regulator to the single hose regulator, the 72 steel tanks to the 80 aluminum tanks, the "J" valve to the submersible pressure gauge, the horse collar vest to the BC with auto inflator and the Navy tables to the dive computer.
I thought we had pretty much achieved the limits of diving equipment technology until I experienced the innovation of the DataMask.
To start with it is a beautifully crafted mask in its own right, but to have the hands free visual experience of a full air integrated computer built into the mask is unbelievable.
What is amazing is that you have engineered the mask where there is absolutely no distraction with the normal field of vision, yet when you glance down you have all of your information available.
In utilizing the mask in almost every diving environment, including normal recreational diving, deep night diving, drift diving, decompression diving and underwater photography the mask exceeded my greatest expectations.
In closing I would like to say "Job well done and you have a winner."
