3 New Finds: Dive Gear To Fit In Your Carry-On

From GoPro cages to protect your essentials to a BC that will fit in your carry-on and an easy-to-use computer, here’s your go-to gear for your next dive trip.

CRESSI GIOTTO DIVE COMPUTER

A full-featured air-nitrox wrist-mount dive computer with Cressi's brand-new RGBM algorithm, the Giotto comes packed with functions. It can be programmed for two gas mixes, is nitrox-capable to 99 percent, and also includes audible and visual alarms, a deep-stop option, and gauge mode. Three control buttons let you navigate easily with screen prompts to let you know which mode you’re in, and the large screen is well organized and easy to read. The Giotto is powered by a user-replaceable battery, and comes with an extra-long wrist strap for use with all exposure suits.

ZEAGLE COVERT TRAVEL BC

This back-buoyancy Zeagle BC is purpose-built for travel: It rolls into a package not much bigger than a folded newspaper. Built of durable 1,000-denier Cordura, the Covert weighs only 3.9 pounds, but when you’re ready to dive, it unfolds into a full-featured BC. It has a twoposition sternum strap, ditchable weight pockets, two tank bands and an elastic mesh fabric on the bladder assembly that helps you maintain a streamlined profile while delivering a solid 32 pounds of lift capacity.

ULCS PROTECTIVE CAGE FOR GOPRO

This new version of Ultralight’s GoPro Cage accommodates Hero cameras and housings, with or without battery backpacks or LCD screens, from the Hero 1 through Hero 3. The cage was designed to protect all camera and housing parts — including the clear plastic tabs on the bottom of housings — from breaking when used in extreme conditions. When attached to an Ultralight polecam, it can be used to capture footage of those lucky moments you have when on a boat — like dolphins riding bow wakes.
