Scubapro G2 Dive Computer Features Review

The Scubapro G2 dive computer — which comes in a console and wrist version — is the scuba diving gear manufacturer’s update to the well-known Galileo computer. We got our hands on both models of the G2 to take a look at some of the main features and capabilities right out of the box.

Screen

• The Scubapro G2 offers a large, full-color LCD screen

• You can change the color of the screen or rotate it 180-degrees to change the button orientation

• The G2 offers four dive-mode displays

Gas Compatibility

• The Scubapro G2 is compatible with eight different gas mixes, including Nitrox and trimix

Additional Features

• The G2 has a digital compass

• You can download pictures onto the computer, making it possible to bring along a dive map or fish ID guide

• The G2 is Bluetooth compatible

Battery

• The Scubapro G2 has a rechargeable battery that can be recharged via a USB cord

Air Integration

• The wrist version offers air integration through a transmitter — the console version connects directly — and can communicate with nine separate transmitters

Heart Rate Monitor

• Both versions are compatible with Scubapro's heart rate monitor, which helps offer more accurate decompression information
