Geography
Located 165 miles from Ensenada, Mexico, Guadalupe's rugged landscape, consists of two ancient overlapping shield volcano's: Mount Augusta and El Picacho. This large island measures 22 miles long with a surface area of 98 square miles.
Marine Mammals
Once a stop for fur traders, Guadalupe Island is now a refuge for the Northern Elephant Seal, Guadalupe Fur Seal and California Sea Lion. This island was declared a pinniped sanctuary by the Mexican Government in 1975 and was one of the last strongholds for the Elephant & Fur seals against hunters.
Diving
