Aqua Lung Fusion Bullet Drysuit with AirCore: ScubaLab Testers Choice
We tested the Aqua Lung Fusion Bullet drysuit w/AirCore during the 2019 ScubaLab drysuit test. With a rugged, versatile design that was comfortable and capable, it was our Testers Choice for drysuits. We tested it at Devil's Den spring in Central Florida.
We evaluated its fit, comfort and range of motion above and below the water, the comfort and effectiveness of neck and wrist seals, and how effectively it let us control trim, buoyancy and air movement in the suit. We also evaluated the effectiveness of inflation and exhaust valves, how streamlined the suit was in the water, and how easy it was to get on and off.

Our first impression was this suit has a lot of zippers; that's because of the dual-layer design with zips and Velcro that attach the lining to the high-stretch shell. Our second impression, as one test diver noted, was "Wow, is this comfortable." In hot topside conditions, the breathable AirCore lining made it the rare suit we didn't bake in, while at depth the lining and shell design worked exceptionally well, keeping the suit streamlined and allowing us to effortlessly control air movement with virtually no restriction of motion. The replaceable seals are simple to swap and comfortable (though the neck ring sometimes got between collar bone and BC straps when topside), and the replaceable outer skin comes off in minutes. The plastic, semicircular entry zipper makes it easy to get in and out. The suspenders (with a mesh backpad) were rated among the best in the test and the expandable cargo pockets are functional and trim. Versatile, comfortable and capable, the Fusion Bullet with AirCore was our Testers Choice for drysuits.
