Young, fit and perpetually amped for adventure, Bart and Torrey Plank have circled the globe. They've ascended Kilimanjaro, gone on safari in South Africa and trekked Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. "Committing to spend the money on a big dive trip can be tough," Bart says. "My advice: Plan it, research it and put the money down. You've got to remember the payoff." On their most recent trip--diving the Socorros off Baja California aboard the Solmar V live-aboard--they were easily the youngest divers onboard, and their get-up-and-dive attitude found them the first to suit up on the deck and the last to scramble into the panga on every dive. And here's the kicker: They made this amazing trip to dive the wild Pacific with mantas, dolphins and sharks just a year after becoming the proud parents of a baby boy. How on earth do you get permission for a liveaboard vacation with a one-year-old at home? "The trick," Bart says, "is asking your wife when she's seven months pregnant." --Nick Lucey
