Cayman Airways

Cayman Airways would like to advise the public of the following flight operations update due to the approaching Hurricane Dean.

Friday 17th August
All flights are presently expected to operate according to the normal schedule. In addition the following flights will be added:

  • KX 2104 to Miami...............Departing at 11:00am Arriving at 1:20pm
  • KX 2105 from Miami...........Departing at 2:20pm Arriving at 2:40pm

  • KX 2106 to Miami...............Departing at 3:40pm Arriving at 6:00pm

  • KX 2107 from Miami...........Departing at 7:00pm Arriving at 9:20pm

  • KX 2600 to Kingston...........Departing at 4:25pm Arriving at 5:20pm

  • KX 2601 from Kingston.......Departing at 6:00pm Arriving at 6:55pm

  • KX 2406 to Cayman Brac....Departing at 7:00pm Arriving at 7:30pm
    These flights will be open and available for sale later this afternoon. Additional flights will be added on Saturday and Sunday. Please listen to the radio for updates.

Change fees/penalties are being waived for all passengers travelling to or from any Cayman Airways gateway between August 16 - 22, 2007. Please note however, only two changes per ticket are permitted. Passengers who decide to cancel their reservations, a miscellaneous charge order for the full value of the ticket may be issued. This must be issued before departure of original travel date and is valid for travel on Cayman Airways only for a year from the date of issuance.

Ticketed passengers travelling to/from Houston and Orlando between August 12 - 22, 2007 will be entitled for a full refund for travel.

Passengers are asked to ensure that all travel documents are in order, which include: visas, re-entry, stamps and any other immigration requirements.

Due to the uncertainty of the weather situation in the Northwest Caribbean passengers are advised to check with the Cayman Airways Reservations Department, which operates from 7am - 10pm, or the Cayman Airways website at www.caymanairways.com for the latest and most accurate flight information.

As the National Flag Carrier of the Cayman Islands, Cayman Airways' schedule includes non-stop Boeing 737 jet service between Chicago, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, New York and Grand Cayman, and jet service to Cayman Brac and Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica and Havana, Cuba. Cayman Airways also operates frequent daily turbo-prop services via Cayman Airways Express between the three Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Cayman Airways Check In Requirements

For the next three days, passengers MUST plan on arriving at the airport 3 hours before departure; at one hour before departure the ticket counter will close out the flight and passengers will not be able to check in S it is imperative over the next three days that we operate flights on time to allow the significant increase in extra sections to accommodate evacuation. Any delay could compromise the last flights out.

Continental Airlines

Continental is providing the option to re-schedule or re-route your travel once, without penalty, if you are ticketed to/from one of the cities listed below.* If your flight has been cancelled, a refund to the original form of payment can be requested. If you are traveling using a OnePass Reward, redeposit fees will be waived. Travel must be completed by the original validity dates specified on the ticket and changes must be confirmed in the same class of service as the original ticket. The value of the ticket may also be used towards purchasing another Continental Airlines ticket.

Delta

Delta Air Lines (DAL: NYSE) customers booked on flights to or from select cities in the Caribbean may make adjustments to travel schedules in preparation for Hurricane Dean, which is expected to affect the region during the next several days.

Customers who purchased tickets by August 15, 2007, and are scheduled to travel August 16, 2007, to August 22, 2007, to, from or through the following cities on Delta, Delta Connection® or Delta-coded flights, may make a one-time change without penalty or additional fees if tickets are changed by August 22, 2007. Travel must begin on or before August 22, 2007.

Impacted cities include the following (note: cities may change):

  • Antigua
  • Barbados
  • Martinique
  • Grand Cayman
  • Kingston, Jamaica
  • Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • Guadeloupe
  • Punta Cana
  • Santo Domingo

    Changes to origin and destination may result in a fare increase. Any fare difference between the original ticket and the new ticket will be collected at the time of rebooking. Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines has activated its Hurricane Buster Protection policy in response to anticipated flight changes resulting from Hurricane Dean.

For customers holding reservations for travel to or from affected locations between Friday August 17, 2007, and Monday August 20, 2007, Spirit Airlines will waive any change fee and difference in fare, provided that customers rebook their travel plans before the date and time of their original reservation, and travel on or before September 2, 2007.

Customers who wish to move their travel beyond September 2, 2007, will not be charged a change fee, however any difference in fare will apply. Customers must call the Spirit Reservations Center at 800-772-7117 (or en Español 800-756-7117) to make their flight changes.

Locations included in the Hurricane Buster Protection policy related to Hurricane Dean are:
