CoCo View Resort
CoCo View ResortCoCo View Resort offers a private-island all-inclusive experience that keeps guests coming back time and time again.
This year’s first-place winner for Value of Resort in its region, CoCo View Resort—an all-inclusive private island off Roatan, Honduras—packs in what’s on offer, from guided boat dives to happy hour beer and cocktails. Start every morning with two daily boat trips for four guided dives a day total, then add in unlimited shore diving on the house reef, home to two wall dives as well as the Prince Albert wreck. This 164-foot upright tanker shelters squid, eels, and crabs, and it’s known as the cruising grounds of eagle rays and barracuda. Across all sites that CoCo View targets, divers can encounter a mix of seahorses, triggerfish, large-eye toadfish, southern stingrays, and hawksbill turtles.
The CoCo View fleet includes custom-designed dive boats with what they call a “moon well,” allowing guests to re-enter the boat, post-dive, up through an opening in the hull. This feature protects guests from any waves, making for smooth and easy access. One of the biggest reasons CoCo View stands out is for its friendly, dedicated staff, most of whom have been with the resort or island for 25 years or longer. The photo pro, Mickey Charteris, is an expert on local marine life, having authored Caribbean Reef Life, a regional marine life identification book. Charter will be leading free photo workshops in mid-July, late September, and November 2024, offering daily hour-long instruction to help guests take their photos to the next level.
CoCo View ResortChoose from over water bungalows, oceanfront rooms, the oceanfront two-bedroom Coco Casa beach house, the three-bedroom Coco Villa Beach House with a full kitchen, and more.
The newest addition to the resort is the beach area, which includes hammocks and a sandy beach that’s about 4 feet deep, perfect for lounging or floating while sipping a cocktail. The whole resort, its beach, and its diving are for guests only—no cruise shippers allowed. Plus, most guests book by the week, so you’re diving with familiar faces during your stay. This helps create more of a community vibe as folks get to know each other underwater and beyond. The 29-room resort prides itself on being a great value, offering a variety of accommodations categories to suit every budget. Choose from overwater bungalows, oceanfront rooms, the oceanfront two-bedroom Coco Casa beach house, the three-bedroom Coco Villa Beach House with a full kitchen, and more.
Throughout the entire resort, the vibe is low-key, with everyone—dive groups, families, solo travelers—coming together at happy hour to mix, mingle and talk diving before heading into supper. All meals are included, and so are happy-hour appetizers as well as nightly entertainment, ranging from live music to fire dancers. It all makes for a memorable vacation, so easy and fulfilling that most guests are returners. In fact, CoCoView has more than 2,000 members in its CoCo Nut Club who have visited the resort at least five times for its mix of diving, entertainment, and relaxation.
