Riding Rock Resort and Marina is a diver dedicated resort located on the quaint island of San Salvador. The Resort offers 12 Standard air-conditioned rooms with 1 twin & 1 double bed in each and 12 Deluxe Ocean Front rooms featuring one queen bed and one sleep sofa. These rooms share adjoining doors that can be opened upon request, making them ideal suites for families traveling together. A second building features an additional 18 Deluxe Ocean Front rooms featuring 2 double beds.
All rooms are air conditioned and offer cable TV, telephone, private bath, porch or balcony, outside drying hooks, tile floors and daily housekeeping. Beach towels are available at the resort laundry facility or at the dive shop. In addition to the Standard room amenities, Deluxe rooms have a mini fridge, ocean view, patio with chairs and a writing table and chairs. The resort also features a freshwater swimming pool, and access to a breathtaking white sand beach.
Especially popular with our guests and local island inhabitant are our restaurant and bar area, The ocean front restaurant specializes in American and Bahamian cuisine with an accent on fresh fish served in a friendly, casual atmosphere with ocean views. Portions and menus are designed to be hearty to accommodate hungry divers! The adjoining Driftwood Bar provides a Wi-Fi hot spot where the after-dive crowd can mix and mingle.
The majority of the diving takes place among the 50+ dive sites that are located on the islands lee side, so rough seas are rarely encountered. The dive sites are almost all walls so the possibility of going deep is available, though you need not dive deeper than 40 feet to reach the reef if you prefer to keep a shallow profile. Shark lovers will be pleased to hear that San Salvador is home to many shark species, the Scalloped Hammerheads being a favorite with our divers.
