Cozumel Revisited

In March of 2006 I earned my open water dive certification on Cozumel at age 57. That is why I titled this commentary the way I did. In September of 2006 I went back to Cozumel to see how much I had forgotten. I took my certification lessons from Matt at the Blue Angle Dive Shop. He was very patient and did a great job of teaching as when I returned to Blue Angle in September I made it through a check out dive with Jeanie and Mike without a hitch. Jeanie runs the dive shop. I spent every morning on the reefs for the remainder of the week. We saw plenty of aquatic life. Lots of the routine (fish, turtles, lobster, etc.)and a few eagle rays. My favorite dive was on Tormentos. We somehow timed the dive with little current and the reef was just georgeous. I have so little experience but I am not sure it can get any better than this.
