Ocean First Divers Announces Purchase Of Scuba Joe

Boulder, Colorado (May 1, 2007) - Ocean First Divers, an environmentally conscious full service dive operation, announced today the purchase of Boulder's venerable dive shop, Scuba Joe. Scuba Joe developed a loyal following and longstanding tradition of excellence in the Front Range community and new owner Graham Casden is honored to carry on the legacy started by Joe Mottashed and David Cain.

"Ocean First Divers is a grassroots approach to scuba diving. We are looking to take ocean conservation and marine biology education to new levels and establish an industry precedent for accountability and preservation. Our goal is to become the first energy independent dive shop with little to no carbon footprint," says Graham Casden, founder and First Executive Officer of Ocean First Divers. "The community in the Boulder/Denver area is active and well educated and it is our mission to use the excitement and adventure of scuba diving to further educate, stimulate and empower people to make decisions that protect our oceans from irreparable harm."

As part of the transaction, Ocean First Divers has acquired all operational activities of Scuba Joe. The esteemed staff and contractors will continue to provide their consummate instruction at the shop while efforts are being made to ensure that the transition is as seamless and undisruptive as possible. Longtime employees Amy Christopher and Robert Ross join Graham Casden on the Ocean First Divers Board of Directors.

Education and conservation are the cornerstones of Ocean First Divers. A Course Director, Master Instructor and a number of Master Scuba Diver Trainers allow Ocean First Divers to offer a wide selection of scuba diving courses, ranging from Discover Scuba all the way to IDC Staff Instructor. In addition, they lead a number of both domestic and international diving trips every year, affording customers the opportunity to explore the world's most beautiful reefs in their natural state.

Ocean First Diver's Grand Opening is Saturday, June 2, 2007 from 10am to 6pm and is open to the public. Special activities include beach volleyball, a raffle and free pool time for trying out the latest gear from Scuba Pro and Sea Quest. There will also be promotional deals on gear, classes and dive trips. Aqua Lung's "Breathe Free" program where you buy a regulator and receive an octopus for FREE and a special discount for an upcoming trip to Indonesia will highlight the store's promotions.

"We have already made significant improvements to the storefront and are looking forward to having the community come tour the facility," says Casden. "Whether people have experience with scuba diving or not, we would love to meet them and celebrate the opening of Ocean First Divers."
