Hotel Cozumel and Living Underwater

We stayed at Hotel Cozumel for the 5th time (it was our 6th time on the island). The hotel has a pier just across the street where the boats pick you up. Despite what the cattle boat coordinator of Dive Paradise says, it is open to all hotel guests and to all dive operations. He was the only mean person on the island.

We dove with Jeremy who operates Living Underwater. It was our best operator ever on any destination. Everybody dives on computer, everybody dives with steel 120 tanks. That allows for well over an hour of bottom time on each dive. May not be right for first time divers, but otherwise it's as good as it gets. He was very knowledgable, helpful and flexible. You can tell him where you would like to go and what time you wish to be picked up at your pier. He provided fresh fruit, cookies and dive jackets for surface intervals and the ride back.

The hotel has a nice pool. It's a quarter mile to the grocery store and a mile to downtown. The rooms are well kept and clean. However, go with the non-inclusive package because the food sucks and the liquor was cheap.
