Aqua Lung Reflective Kit

Aqua Lung Reflective Kit

One of the easiest ways to add a little “Here I am!” to your rig is with this Reflective Kit for your BC. A reflective ring fits underneath the shoulder exhaust valve, and the patch fits just above the inflator-hose hold-down strap. So equipped, you increase your visibility day or night. Price: $12 www.aqualung.com

Ideations Dive Alert Plus — DP1

The Dive Alert was the original diver’s surface air horn powered by the compressed air in your tank. Now there’s the Dive Alert Plus, which provides a loud audible signal both on the surface and under water. The device connects between your BC’s power inflator and its quick-disconnect hose. To get the dive boat’s attention on the surface, rotate the switch to the “Air” position and press the button. The horn can be heard from as far as a mile away. To get your buddy’s attention under water, switch to the “H2O” position and you’ll get a loud buzzing sound. The unit fits standard inflators or alternate-air-source connections, and requires no modification to your gear. Price: $80 (standard power inflator) www.divealert.com Ideations Dive Alert Plus — DP1Zeagle Signal Tube S.S. With Reel Kit

Zeagle Signal Tube S.S. With Reel Kit

This complete surface signal system includes a 7-inch–by-60-inch tube with safety orange on one side and fluorescent yellow on the other, a stainless-steel finger reel with 65 feet of heavy-duty nylon line and a double-ended brass snap, all packed into a quick-deploy mesh pouch. Grommets on the pouch offer multiple mounting options; a bungee-cord drawstring opening secures the unit in the pouch while providing quick-draw capability. Mount the kit behind you so it’s out of your way. A short loop of webbing hangs from the opening ready to deploy. Pull on the loop to remove tube and attached reel. Air can be added while at depth via an alternate second stage and sent to the surface to indicate your safety-stop position. On the surface air also can be added orally. The dual-color tube offers excellent visibility in a variety of surface conditions, and a clear sleeve near the top fits a light stick for use at night. Fully inflated on a calm surface, the tube was still visible a half-mile away. Price: $176 www.zeagle.com
