Easy Goin' June 2007

Connie, Lloyd, Robyn, Oscar, Troy, and myself boarded the Easy Goin' on June 10-15 for a wonderful adventure. This was our second trip on this boat and I'm sure it won't be our last.

First let me say, this boat is not the fanciest but it very friendly and has a great crew. Chuck the captain and his wife Peg, fist mate and chef, are your hosts along with a DM/cabana boy, this trip, Matt. We wanted to go on a Dolphin Encounter which was going to be our first day but the Capt decided that the diving conditions were too good to pass up.

On this trip we did the shark dive at Bull Run, we saw Turtles, Sting rays, even got to join in on a sting ray encounter at Honeymoon Harbor. Kind of like stingray city in the Cayman's but on a much smaller scale. It was very nice. We did find several pods of wild dolphins both spotted and bottle nose and we had a blast with them. It was great ! We sure did get to see a lot of variety and lucked up with weather the entire trip.

Diving and Dining with this group was such a pleasure. This was our first time diving with Oscar and let me tell you, not only is this man funny, but an excellent diver. I found myself watching him a lot an picking up tips. We all got along wonderfully and would go with these guys anywhere.

We did nitrox and air and you did need to check your fills and calibrate your tanks. There were a few occasions when air was needed to be added etc, but this was easily fixed. You set up all of your own gear and are responsible to make sure that you switched over your tanks.

Your room consists of two bunk beds, reading lamps and a small space to put your computer, etc. Tip, only bring soft luggage, hard luggage would not fit under the bottom bunk. Now a days with all of our chargers etc, I was glad to see that we had ac outlets in the room and myself and Lloyd, both brought surge protectors so we could hook everything up. One bathroom for the all six of you, however there was a hot water hose at the back of the boat so most of the time, we took our showers out there.

Peg and Chuck made us some excellent meals and if you had any special requirements they would take care of that. Peg even went shopping for us before we went so that we would not have to pack some booze in our luggage, we were worried about breakage and weight restrictions. She also bought us half and half. There was always plenty of food, beer, and water.

Night dives were offered but this trip, we all decided to do happy hour instead. If you don't mind sharing a head, and you enjoy good company and having fun, then I can recommend this trip to anyone. Thanks everyone, Troy and I had a blast !!!
