From the Valenza Trip Journal:

Day 6

Today we wake up at 7:45 to Natalie and Ellie making use blueberry muffins. We enjoyed the muffins and then we cleaned the boat. The boat needed some major cleaning… Tiff gave us a lecture on wreck dives and told us some great stories. We waited for Joe our skipper to get back and then we headed into Gustavia for some island time. As we docked, Ben and Scott manned the fenders and kept the yacht's hull safely away from the dock. Maggie and Trevor went to the grocery store to pick up our fresh food reprovision order while the rest of us spent three hours in town looking at all the shops. Some of us contacted our parents. Just about everyone had a great burger at Jimmy Buffet's "Cheeseburger in Paradise" (and there was some debate if it was the real deal). We had great ice cream at an amazing shop at the Creperie at the top of Gustavia and the boys stocked up on some good snack food. We headed back to the yacht and geared up for a great dive. In the first group, Sarah, Logan, Peter, Emma, Natalie and Ben loaded the dinghy with the gear and headed out to the pinnacle for an amazing dive. The group went down to fifty six feet and discovered the reef had some great aquatic life. Ben spotted a cool moray eel in the cave area. The group spotted three barracuda and a queen angel fish. The group came back in an hour and the next group got ready. Scott, Maggie, Ellie, Joe, Trevor and Miriam headed out with Tiff for a great dive. They headed out to the same dive site, raised the dive flag and descended to fifty feet. The group saw a few huge schools of fish that reflected the sun and water. As the dive went on, more and more aquatic life came out. We headed up and had intentions for another dive, but then the crew decided that we would hold off on the next dive and get a good night's sleep in preparation for the amazing dives to come in Saba. The cooks began preparing a great Mexican dinner while the rest of the group rested and napped. Then the group set up for dinner as we blared music. We came together for the Broadreach rituals of a quote and toast. The meal was devoured and everyone talked about their glums and glows of the day. We cleaned up and started thinking about were we wanted to sleep. We sat around the table in the salon and fooled around for a bit before we all called it quits... TREVOR STANCO
