Sea Eye Diving has over 35 years' combined experience on Grand Turk and is a land-based nitrox training and diving facility in the Turks and Caicos. Sea Eye ensures an intimate and personal dive experience by operating six roomy, safe and rock-solid 24-foot Carolina Skiffs as dive boats, and since the diving is so close (5 to 15 minutes) to the Sea Eye operation, surface intervals can be spent on the beach relaxing and soaking up some sun. Each boat also offers shade, wet and dry storage, and twin platforms and ladders; camera rinse buckets are available by request. There are also rinsing and storage facilities at the dive shop, and Sea Eye carries DuraBag BCs and Sherwood regulators as well as Dacor and Cressi Sub fins and masks. Computer rentals are also available for both air and nitrox. Sea Eye offers the only Nikonos rental facility and E-6 processing services on Grand Turk. Sea Eye Diving boats can pick up and return divers from the beach at or near most of the accommodations on the west side of the island. Land transportation can also be arranged by the helpful Sea Eye if you require it. What about the diving, you ask? Diving takes place along the length of the Grand Turk Wall, which lies just off the west shore of the island. There are no currents other than tidal currents, and visibility often exceeds 150 feet. The diving is all wall diving, and typical profiles are first dive, 80 feet for 30 minutes; second, 50 feet for 40 minutes. Computer divers are allowed to set their own profiles to maximize bottom time within no-deco limits. All sites have permanent moorings in place to preserve the reef's pristine condition. Reef topography runs the gamut and features tunnels, chimneys, archways and peaks. The marine life is varied and plentiful, and there is always the chance to encounter large pelagics cruising the Grand Turk Wall. In the summer you may see mantas feeding; in the winter you may encounter migrating humpbacks. Regardless of season, with a 7,000-foot drop-off, you'll never know what might show up.
