Academic Treks, the academic adventure and community service division of Broadreach, is offering a $250 discount on their Marine Biology Adventure to Sport Diver readers who enroll by April 30, 2008. This intensive marine biology program is a hands-on field studies and scuba training course that allows teenagers ages 15-19 to unlock the secrets of the marine world while earning college credit.
On this extraordinary 21-day summer adventure at the Gerace Research Center in the Bahamas, participants dive alongside professional marine biologists with thriving reefs as their classroom. The curriculum is designed to anchor traditional learning with immediate real-world application and experience. Field research, labs, dive training and seminars qualify this program for academic credit. But this program isn't all work! There is still time for sea kayaking, island exploration, bodysurfing and evening bonfires. No experience is required, as Broadreach offers PADI Open Water Diver certification for uncertified participants, in addition to numerous PADI specialties. Each summer over 600 teens earn multiple certifications from Open Water Diver through Open Water Scuba Instructor while exploring the world with Broadreach, a PADI Five-Star Gold Palm Facility.
