These folks have been around for quite a while, but I'd never had a chance to really field-test one of their products. So there I am, dangling over a 20-foot-deep pool of water on the end of a 50-foot rappel; in my backpack, about three grand worth of Nikon camera in a bright orange Pelican box just big enough to hold my N90S, a 35-70mm autofocus and an 80-200mm autofocus. Gulp. Off the rope, straight into the water, swim downstream ... well, let's take a look. Dry as bone. You can custom-cut the foam interior (it's all quarter-inch square blocks of foam that separate easily), there's a rubber O-ring seal, a super-positive closure system (that can be secured with a small lock) and a pressure-release valve to make opening easy. Not only does it keep your stuff dry, it provides a good amount of shock absorption as well. A variety of prices and sizes from very small to big enough for a production studio. The size I bought retailed around $90 (and fit in a day pack easily) and was worth every penny of it.
